About Eriophyllum pringlei A.Gray

Eriophyllum pringlei A.Gray, commonly known as Pringle's woolly sunflower, is a North American flowering species in the Asteraceae family. It is native to the southwestern United States (Arizona, Nevada, California) and northern Mexico (Baja California), where it grows in multiple types of desert, canyon, and hillside habitats including chaparral and sagebrush. Pringle's woolly sunflower is a small annual herb, growing in woolly tufts and reaching no more than about 8 centimeters (3.2 inches) in height. Its lobed leaves grow up to around 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) long and are covered in white woolly fibers. The plant's inflorescence is a cluster of flower heads, which contain 10 to 20 golden yellow disc florets and no ray florets.
