About Erionota thrax (Linnaeus, 1767)

This description covers both male and female individuals of Erionota thrax. The upper side of the wings is chocolate-brown. The forewings have three pale ochraceous discal spots: one crosses the cell, a second is located beneath the cell and between the two lower median nervules, and the third and smallest spot sits between the first and second median nervules. The hindwings have a greyish-ochraceous fringe. The underside of the wings is paler than the upper side, and the hindwings have a discal, rounded, maculate darker fascia. The body and legs are more or less the same color as the wings.
