Eriogonum ovalifolium Nutt. is a tough perennial herb. It grows as mats in gravelly soil or between rocks, and produces erect inflorescences that can reach up to 35 centimeters (14 inches) in height. This species blooms from early to mid-summer. Its flowering stems are leafless. The leaves grow at the base of the plant; they range in color from pale green to gray, are rounded, woolly in texture, and have petioles. Its flower clusters can be yellow, light red or pink, purple, or white.
