About Eriogonum elatum Douglas ex Benth.

Eriogonum elatum, a species of wild buckwheat, is commonly known as tall woolly buckwheat. It is native to the western United States, ranging from California to Idaho. This is a perennial herb that grows between 0.5 meters and 1.5 meters tall. Its long leaves grow at the base of the plant; they can reach over 20 centimeters in maximum length, which is quite large for a buckwheat. The plant’s stems are erect, thin, branching, and leafless, and they are occasionally hollow. It produces inflorescences ranging from small to large, holding clusters of tiny flowers that come in shades from white to dark pink.
