About Eriodictyon tomentosum Benth.
Eriodictyon tomentosum Benth. is a shrub that reaches a maximum height of 1 to 3 meters. Dense white woolly hairs cover its twigs and foliage, giving the entire bush a silvery appearance. Its leaves are oval in shape, growing up to 10 centimeters long and 5 centimeters wide, and may have small teeth along their edges. This shrub produces flowers in dense, fuzzy clusters. Each individual blossom is very light lavender, glandular, and just a few millimeters long. The fruit it forms is a tiny capsule less than 3 millimeters wide, holding approximately 10 very small seeds. This shrub is endemic to the California Coast Ranges, where it grows in grassland and chaparral plant communities.
