About Erinnyis ello Linnaeus, 1758

Erinnyis ello, commonly known as the ello sphinx, is a moth species belonging to the family Sphingidae. This species was first formally described by Carl Linnaeus, in the 10th edition of his work Systema Naturae published in 1758. Its distribution range extends from Argentina, north through Central America, into the United States, reaching as far north as the state of Nevada. The ello sphinx can be parasitized by Microplitis figueresi, a species of braconid wasp.
