About Erigeron uncialis S.F.Blake

Erigeron uncialis, commonly known as lone fleabane or limestone daisy, is a North American flowering plant species in the family Asteraceae. It is native to the western United States, where it occurs in the states of Nevada and California. This species grows on cliff faces, most often limestone cliffs, and frequently grows alongside various conifer trees. It is a clump-forming perennial herb that rarely grows taller than 7 centimeters (2.8 inches). It produces a taproot and a woody underground caudex. Each stem produces only one flower head in its inflorescence. Every flower head holds 22 to 30 white or pink ray florets, which surround a center of numerous yellow disc florets. Two varieties are recognized: Erigeron uncialis var. conjugans S.F.Blake, which is found in Nevada, and Erigeron uncialis var. uncialis, which is found in California.
