About Erigeron elatior (A.Gray) Greene

Erigeron elatior, commonly called tall fleabane, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the western United States, where it occurs in the states of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This species grows in subalpine brush, mountain meadows, and openings within coniferous forests. It is a perennial herb that reaches up to 60 centimeters (2 feet) tall, and spreads via woody underground rhizomes. Each stem of Erigeron elatior produces between 1 and 6 flower heads. Every flower head holds 75 to 150 pink, white, or rose-purple ray florets, which surround numerous yellow disc florets.
