Ericeia sobria is a species of moth that belongs to the family Erebidae. It has been found in Kenya, Gambia, South Africa (specifically the Eastern Cape region), Borneo, New Guinea, and Australia. In Australia, recorded occurrences of the species are limited to Queensland and New South Wales. The wingspan of adult Ericeia sobria measures approximately 50 millimetres, which equals 2.0 inches. Adult individuals of this species show variable appearance. Their wings are patterned brown, with a darker, indistinct submarginal band.
