About Ericameria resinosa Nutt.

Ericameria resinosa, commonly called Columbia goldenweed or Columbia goldenbush, is a North American flowering shrub species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the northwestern United States, where it occurs in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. This shrub grows up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall. It produces leathery, thread-like or narrowly oblanceolate leaves that reach up to 25 mm (1 inch) in length, with resinous glands covering the leaf surface. Flowers develop at the tips of branches, and are surrounded by a dense cluster of reduced leaves. Its flower heads are white, containing 10 to 15 disc florets and 0 to 7 ray florets. It grows in habitats including rocky plains, steep hillsides, and rocky cliffs, and usually roots in rock crevices.
