Ericameria ericoides is a shrub that rarely reaches a maximum height of 1 meter (3.3 feet). It is densely covered in foliage, made up of comblike fans of small cylindrical leaves that grow up to one centimeter long. Small erect branches on this shrub are topped with inflorescences holding small golden yellow flower heads. Each flower head contains several disc florets and a small number of ray florets.
