About Ericameria cooperi (A.Gray) H.M.Hall

Ericameria cooperi, commonly known as Cooper's goldenbush, is a North American shrub species. It grows in desert regions of southern Nevada, southern and eastern California, and Baja California. It belongs to the goldenbush genus Ericameria in the sunflower family. This plant is a shrub with long, narrow, sometimes thread-like leaves that lack hairs. A single individual can produce multiple flower heads arranged in a flat-topped cluster. Each flower head holds 6 to 7 disc florets, and has no ray florets. Two varieties are recognized: Ericameria cooperi var. bajacalifornica, found in Baja California; and Ericameria cooperi var. cooperi, found in Baja California, California, and Nevada.
