About Ericameria albida (M.E.Jones ex A.Gray) L.C.Anderson
Ericameria albida, commonly called white flowered rabbitbrush, is a North American flowering shrub species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to desert regions of the western United States, and occurs mainly in the Great Basin, including Utah, Nevada, and eastern California’s Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino Counties. There is one reported record of this species from Lassen County, California that comes from an urban area. This plant grows in dry, alkaline plains within desert regions. It is a shrub that can sometimes reach a height of 150 cm, or 4.9 feet. Its leaves are thin and thread-like, growing up to 35 mm, or 1.4 inches, long. Dense inflorescences of tiny flower heads sit at the tips of its erect branches. These flower heads contain creamy white disc florets and have no ray florets.
