About Erica regia Bartl.
Erica regia, commonly known as the Elim heath, is a flowering shrub in the genus Erica that forms part of the fynbos vegetation. This species is endemic to the Western Cape, where its range extends from Elim to Viljoenshof. The shrub reaches a maximum height of 70 cm. It flowers year-round, with its peak flowering period occurring from August to October. Its flowers are tubular, and may be red, white, or a combination of the two colors. Seeds develop in caps that are released two months after formation.
