About Erica ferrea P.J.Bergius

Erica ferrea, commonly known as iron heath, is a plant species in the genus Erica that forms part of the fynbos vegetation. This species is endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa. Its range extends from Yzerfontein to Malmesbury and the Cape Flats. Within the area bounded by Muizenberg, Table View, Kraaifontein and Eerste River, the plant has lost portions of its original habitat, with the extent of occurrence reduced from 2415 km² to 916 km².
