Ergates faber is a species of longhorn beetle that falls into the family Cerambycidae. This species is the only member of the monotypic genus Ergates. It is originally native to Europe. The larvae of this species feed on sapwood. The full development process of Ergates faber takes between three and twelve years to complete, while the pupation stage only lasts a few weeks, occurring between June and July.
