About Eremochloa ophiuroides (Munro) Hack.

Eremochloa ophiuroides, commonly known as centipedegrass, is a grass species belonging to the family Poaceae. It is used as a warm-season lawn grass, forms thick sods, and spreads via stolons.

In cultivation, centipedegrass is a low-maintenance grass. It needs infrequent mowing and has low fertilization requirements. This grass has medium shade tolerance and limited tolerance for foot traffic. It is shallow-rooted, which gives it poor drought tolerance. Centipedegrass can survive in mild climates that do not experience multiple hard freezes. After light freezes, it will turn brown, but it recovers and turns green again once temperatures rise. It grows well in sandy and acidic soils.
