About Eragrostis minor Host

Eragrostis minor, commonly known as little lovegrass or smaller stinkgrass, is a widespread flowering plant species in the grass family Poaceae. It is native to most of the subtropical and warm temperate regions of the Old World, and has been introduced to North America, South America, and Australia. This species prefers disturbed open sites with low competition and grows best in sandy or gravelly soils. It is commonly found growing on rail embankments, road verges, sidewalk cracks, and waste areas. While its seeds are edible, they are very small and difficult to harvest and handle, so the plant is usually classified as a famine food.
