About Episteme adulatrix Kollar, 1844

Episteme adulatrix (Kollar, 1844) has a wingspan of approximately 66 millimetres, which equals 2.6 inches. The upperside of its forewings is black, marked with large yellow patches, a row of small white spots, and pale blue spots at the wing base. The upperside of its hindwings is also black, featuring small white submarginal spots and orange spots positioned near the anal angle. All of its head, thorax, and abdomen are black; the abdomen additionally bears distinct blood-red bands. This species occurs in India, western China, Nepal, Burma, and Taiwan.
