About Episinus truncatus Latreille, 1809
Episinus truncatus (scientific name Episinus truncatus Latreille, 1809) is a small dark tangle-web spider with a Palearctic distribution. This species occurs across Europe, and is notably recorded in Lithuania. In England, it is most often found growing on heather, and occasionally occurs on coastal grassland. It spins a simple web close to the ground. It can reach a maximum body length of 4 mm, and is very closely similar in appearance to the related species Episinus angulatus.
