Epinotia tenerana (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775 is a species of small moth. The wingspan of this moth ranges from 12 to 16 mm. Its individuals are highly variable in color. The basic color of the forewings is most often brown, ferruginous, or reddish brown, with a light crossband located in the middle of the forewing and a bright area at the forewing apex. This species looks quite similar to Ancylis mitterbacheriana. Epinotia tenerana can be found across most of Europe, the Near East, and the eastern Palearctic realm, which includes eastern Russia, China, Korea, and Japan. These moths live in habitats including woodland, freshwater margins, and damp areas.
