Distribution Range

This species is distributed across the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from the east coast of Africa to the central Pacific.

Habitat and Depth Range

It lives in lagoons and seaweed reefs, found at depths down to 44 m.

Diet

Its diet consists of crustaceans, fishes, and some cephalopods.

Size and Weight

The maximum recorded size of E. macrospilos is 43 cm in length, and it can weigh up to 2 kg.
