About Epilobium minutum Lindl.

Epilobium minutum Lindl. is a small, spindly plant with thin branching stems that reach a maximum height of 40 centimeters, or 16 inches. It has sparse oval-shaped leaves that measure 1 to 2 centimeters, or 0.39 to 0.79 inches, long. The tops of the stems hold a small number of tiny flowers, which range in color from white to light purple. Each flower has notched petals that are only a few millimeters long. The fruit this plant produces is a capsule 1 to 2 centimeters, or 0.39 to 0.79 inches, in length. It is far smaller than most other species in the Epilobium genus, a characteristic referenced by its specific epithet minutum and some of its common names.
