It is native to North America, with confirmed records ranging from Quebec and Maine in the east, south to South Carolina, west to Kansas, and north to Alberta. This species inhabits barrens, thickets, woodlots, and forests. Its wingspan measures between 40 and 50 mm. The larval stage of Epiglaea decliva occurs from May to July, and the species overwinters in the egg stage.
