About Ephebopus murinus (Walckenaer, 1837)

Ephebopus murinus (Walckenaer, 1837), commonly known as the skeleton tarantula. Adults of this species usually reach a leg span of 11 to 12 cm (4.5 inches), though female individuals can grow as large as 15 cm (6 inches). The legs are black, the abdomen is small and brown, and the carapace ranges in color from coffee-colored to golden. Striped patterns on the legs are similar to those seen on Aphonopelma seemani, but have a more yellowish tone. Ephebopus murinus is a terrestrial, semi-fossorial lowland forest species, native to northern Brazil, French Guiana, and Suriname.
