About Enaphalodes atomarius (Drury, 1773)
Scientific name: Enaphalodes atomarius (Drury, 1773)
The head of this insect is brownish black, covered with short yellowish-grey pile. The thorax is dirty black, covered with yellow-grey pile; it is cylindrical, and has no spines or raised areas. The antennae are dusky brown, with a spine on each joint except the joint closest to the head, and they are approximately the same length as the entire insect. The scutellum is very small. The elytra are black, mottled with yellow grey; they have margins along the sides and suture, do not reach or cover the anus, and each elytron has two spines at its extremity. The abdomen, breast, and legs are greyish brown, and each leg has a spine at the tip of the tibia. The total body length is 2/3 of an inch, which equals 17 mm.
