About Enallagma annexum (Hagen, 1861)

Enallagma annexum, commonly known as the northern bluet, is a small species of damselfly. Adults reach a total length of 1 to 1.6 inches, equal to 26 to 40 mm. Males are predominantly blue along the sides of the thorax and the upper surface of the abdomen. The lower abdominal appendages of males are longer than their upper abdominal appendages. Females have a body color ranging from greenish-yellow to brown, and the upper side of their abdomen is mostly black.
