About Elibia dolichoides

Elibia dolichoides, commonly known as the green banded hawkmoth, is a moth species belonging to the family Sphingidae. It was first described by Rudolf Felder in 1874. Its distribution ranges from Nepal and Sikkim in northeastern India, through Thailand and southwestern China, to Selangor in Peninsular Malaysia. The wingspan of adult moths measures 80โ€“100 mm. The larvae of this species feed on plants in the Vitaceae family, and they prefer to eat mature leaves of these plants. One larva collected on Tetrastigma was successfully reared to adulthood on Parthenocissus inserta.
