Eleocharis palustris, commonly known as common spike-rush, creeping spike-rush, or marsh spike-rush, is a mat-forming perennial flowering plant belonging to the sedge family Cyperaceae. It grows in wetland habitats across Europe, North Africa, northern and central Asia including regions such as Siberia, China, Mongolia, Iran, and Nepal, and North America including the United States, Canada, Greenland, and northern Mexico. This species is not easily distinguished from other closely related species, and it is extremely variable across its global range.
