About Ectropis bhurmitra (Walker, 1860)

Ectropis bhurmitra (Walker, 1860) is described with the following characteristics: Adult moths have a wingspan of 3 cm. The base ground color of the wings is fawn, marked with brown banded fasciations that form complex patterns. Each forewing has a blurry dark blotch near its middle. The caterpillar has a dull pale yellow upper dorsal side and a dark fuscous lower ventral side with pink suffusion. The posterior end of the caterpillar takes on a rusty color. Setae on the caterpillar grow from black dots. Pupation of this species takes place inside a silken cell that the caterpillar weaves between leaves.
