About Echium virescens DC.

Echium virescens DC. is a branched, bushy herbaceous plant that grows up to 2 meters tall. It needs plenty of sun and good drainage to grow. It forms rosettes that produce several dense, cylindrical inflorescences. These inflorescence tops are forked, unlike the simple lateral tops of Echium webbii from the island of La Palma. It has dense foliage made up of green-grey leaves. The leaves are thick and persistent, lanceolate at the base, get smaller along the inflorescence, and bear hairs on both sides. It blooms with pale blue or pink flowers from the end of winter to the beginning of spring. Its flower sepals are fused at the base. This plant is grown in gardens. It is also used for beekeeping, as it is rich in both pollen and nectar.
