About Echium sabulicola Pomel

Echium sabulicola Pomel, with synonyms Echium confusum Coincy and Echium maritimum Willd., is a herbaceous biennial plant species belonging to the genus Echium. It grows to a maximum height of 70 centimetres (28 inches). This species is native to sandy coastal areas of the western Mediterranean region, ranging from Spain eastward to southern France and Italy. Its native range includes the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily. It requires dry atmospheric conditions and full sun exposure. Its flowers have five sepals. The corolla is zygomorphic, measures 12–22 millimetres (0.47–0.87 in) across, and bears five petals. Echium sabulicola typically begins blooming at the end of April, and can bloom a second time during autumn months if weather conditions are favourable.
