About Drasteria petricola Walker, 1858

Drasteria petricola, commonly known as the little arches, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1858. It is distributed in western North America, ranging from Yukon and the Northwest Territories south to New Mexico along the Rocky Mountains, and east as far as Manitoba. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 34 mm. Adult moths are active and on wing from May to July each year. The larvae of Drasteria petricola feed on plants belonging to the genus Hedysarum. Adult moths feed on flower nectar, and have been recorded feeding on mint nectar in Utah.
