About Drasteria hudsonica Grote & Robinson, 1865
Drasteria hudsonica, commonly known as the northern arches, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote and Coleman Townsend Robinson in 1865. Its distribution ranges from Alaska and Yukon to California, extending eastward to New Mexico and Manitoba. The wingspan of adult D. hudsonica measures 35 to 36 mm. In the northern part of its range, adults are active on the wing during June. In more southern areas of its distribution, the adult flight period occurs earlier than it does in the north. The larvae of this species feed on Shepherdia canadensis.
