About Downingia pusilla (G.Don ex A.DC.) Torr.
Downingia pusilla is a species of flowering plant in the bellflower family, with the common name dwarf calicoflower. This wildflower grows in two geographically separated regions: Chile, and the US state of California. It typically grows in wet habitats, including ditches and vernal pools. This annual species differs from other Downingia species by its much smaller flowers, which reach a maximum width of only 4 millimeters. It produces erect stems that bear a small number of pointed leaves. Its tiny tubular flowers are either white or blue, with yellow spots located near the opening of the tube. Its fruit is a capsule that measures two to three centimeters in length.
