Donacia clavipes is a leaf beetle species distributed across much of the western Palearctic, with distinct physical traits for adults.

Donacia clavipes Fabricius, 1792 adult beetles measure 7–12 millimetres (0.28–0.47 in) in length. The elytra are fully rounded on their upper surface. The hind femora reach the apex of the elytra and do not have teeth. The elytra also lack any indentations. The antennae and legs are reddish, and the dorsal surface of the beetle is bronze-green. This species is distributed across the western part of the Palearctic region, ranging from central Spain eastward to northern China. It is also recorded across Europe, from southern to northern Italy and Romania, along the shores of the Black Sea, and in Turkey.
