Donacaula mucronella is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae, found in Europe. For this species, the wingspan of males measures 22–26 mm, while the wingspan of females measures 29–35 mm. The forewings are brown, with an ochreous-whitish streak along the front edge that is bordered below by dark fuscous suffusion. The hindwings are fuscous-whitish. Refer to Parsons et al. for additional information. Depending on the location, adult moths of this species fly from June to September. The larvae feed on Carex, Carex riparia, Glyceria maxima, and Phragmites.
