Donacaula melinellus (also referred to as Donacaula melinella) is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. The species was originally described by James Brackenridge Clemens. It is distributed in North America, where it has been recorded from Ontario, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. The forewings of this moth measure 21 to 34 mm in length. Its main adult flight period runs from March to August, though adult individuals have been recorded in most months of the year.
