Disonycha glabrata, commonly known as the pigweed flea beetle, is a species of striped flea beetle that belongs to the leaf beetle family Chrysomelidae. This beetle feeds on Amaranthus retroflexus, and also lays its eggs inside this plant. For the larvae of Disonycha glabrata, the first instar stadium, which is the development period of the first larval stage, lasts an average of 3.6 days. The second instar stadium lasts 2.6 days, and the third instar stadium lasts 2.9 days. During the third stadium period, the species also spends 13.5 days developing in the soil.
