About Disa flexuosa (L.) Sw.

Disa flexuosa (L.) Sw. is a perennial geophyte in the Disa genus, which grows within the fynbos biome. This plant is endemic to South Africa's Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces. While it is now extinct on the Cape Peninsula, its current range extends through the Western Cape lowlands: from Nieuwoudtville south to Caledon, and east to the Hex River Valley. A total of 36 subpopulations are currently recorded, and ten of these recorded subpopulations may no longer exist. Disa flexuosa is threatened by three main factors: urban development, crop cultivation, and invasive plants.
