About Disa atricapilla (Harv. ex Lindl.) Bolus
Disa atricapilla, commonly known as the black-haired orchid, is a perennial geophyte. It belongs to the genus Disa and is a component of fynbos vegetation. This species grows to a maximum height of 30 cm. It is endemic to the Western Cape, where it occurs in the southwestern part of the region. Disa atricapilla produces flowers in November and December, typically following wildfires. Its flowers are bicoloured.
