About Diplopeltis huegelii Endl.

Diplopeltis huegelii Endl. is a shrub species belonging to the soapberry family, Sapindaceae. This species is endemic to Western Australia. Mature plants reach heights between 0.1 and 1.5 metres. Within its native range, it produces white, pink, or purple flowers from April through December. The species was first formally described in 1837 by Austrian botanist Stephen Endlicher. Its type specimen was collected in Fremantle by Charles von Hügel. Three subspecies are currently recognized: D. huegelii Endl. subsp. huegelii, D. huegelii subsp. lehmannii (Miq.) Keighery, and D. huegelii subsp. subintegra (A.S.George) Keighery.
