About Diplolepis bicolor
Diplolepis bicolor, commonly called the spiny bud gall wasp, is a species of cynipid wasp. It induces the formation of bud galls on wild roses, and is found across all of North America. The galls produced by this wasp are 10 to 12 millimeters in diameter, and they look superficially similar to the leaf galls induced by another wasp species, Diplolepis polita.
