The pinkish purple flower measures roughly one centimeter long; its five-lobed mouth has broad yellow strips and purple spotting.
Blooming Period
This species blooms from May to June.
Species Distribution
It is native to northern California, western Nevada, and southern Oregon, occurring in the Sierra Nevada and the southern Cascade Range.
Habitat and Elevation
It grows in openings within yellow pine forest, red fir forest, and lodgepole forest habitats, at elevations between 1,220 and 2,380 metres, or 4,000 and 7,810 feet.
