About Dillwynia tenuifolia Sieber ex DC.
Dillwynia tenuifolia Sieber ex DC. is an erect shrub that typically grows 0.6 to 1.0 meters (2 feet 0 inches to 3 feet 3 inches) tall. Its stems are covered in short, curved hairs. The leaves are linear, hairless overall, and sometimes hairy near the tip, measuring 4 to 12 millimeters (0.16 to 0.47 inches) long. Flowers are usually arranged singly in leaf axils or on the ends of branchlets, growing on a peduncle less than 3 millimeters (0.12 inches) long. It has bracts and bracteoles that are about 1 millimeter (0.039 inches) long. The sepals are 4 to 5 millimeters (0.16 to 0.20 inches) long, and the standard petal is orange-yellow and red, 7 to 10 millimeters (0.28 to 0.39 inches) long. Flowering occurs mainly from February to March, and the fruit is a pod 4 to 5 millimeters (0.16 to 0.20 inches) long. This species of dillwynia grows in forest between the Cumberland Plain, Blue Mountains and Howes Valley, on the coast and tablelands of New South Wales.
