About Dicerca lurida (Fabricius, 1775)

Dicerca lurida is a species of black beetle belonging to the subfamily Chrysochroinae. Adults of this species measure between 12 and 20 millimetres (0.47 to 0.79 inches) in length, and they are known to feed on various species of hickory. The adult flight period of Dicerca lurida runs from April to May; during this time, the beetles can be found sunning on tree trunks and logs. The species has a total life stage duration of at least three years.
