Diatraea evanescens is a species of moth that belongs to the Crambidae family. This species was first described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1917. It has been recorded in the U.S. states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Adult individuals of this moth have a wingspan of approximately 18 to 20 mm. Adult Diatraea evanescens have been documented in flight between the months of March and September. The larvae of this species feed on Paspalum larranagae.
