About Diarsia jucunda Walker

Diarsia jucunda, commonly known as the smaller pinkish dart, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. Its distribution ranges from Newfoundland and central Ontario westward to northern Michigan and Wisconsin, and extends south to Ohio. In the Appalachian Mountains, this species can be found as far south as North Carolina, and it has been newly recorded in Tennessee. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 33 mm. Adult moths are active from June to August, and the species produces one generation each year. Its larvae are believed to be general feeders, and they have been officially recorded feeding on grasses and Taraxacum officinale.
