Its distribution ranges from eastern North America, extending south through Central America, South America (including Suriname), and the Caribbean. This moth has a wingspan measuring 27 to 30 mm. In the northern portion of its range, adult moths are active from October to November. In Florida and areas further south, adults are active year-round and produce multiple generations per year.
