About Dianthus repens Willd.
Dianthus repens Willd., commonly known as boreal carnation and northern pink, is a flowering plant species. Its native range includes the Nei Mongol (Inner Mongolia) region of China, Siberia, the Russian Far East, and northern areas of European Russia such as Komi and Arkhangelsk. It is also native to Alaska and Yukon Territory.
This species is a perennial herb that grows with many clumped stems. Stems are sometimes erect, and other times they form a mat pressed close to the ground. All stems are hairless except for those in some populations found in China, and they reach up to 25 cm in length. Its leaves are linear or narrowly lanceolate, and grow up to 5 cm long. Flowers are most often solitary, but sometimes grow in groups of 2 to 4, with petals that range in color from pink to purple. Dianthus repens grows in rock outcrops and talus slopes.
